The State Progressive Women’s Forum (SPWF) is committed to transforming the lives of women across Odisha by strengthening their social, economic, and political status. We work tirelessly to build a supportive ecosystem where women are empowered through education, skill development, awareness programs, and community-based initiatives.
Mission & Vision
To serve as an umbrella guarding the interest of all women groups with about 23000 self help groups all over the state having membership strength around 2,76,000.
A world where women, irrespective of social or economic background, are empowered to realize their full potential, live with dignity and freedom, exercise their rights confidently, and actively contribute to social change.
SPWF publishes a monthly magazine titled “AME SAHELI” and produces theme-based booklets, leaflets and other awareness material.
Education & orientation programs for young women, leadership capacity building, and networking with gender-development institutions.

Community Development
SPWF’s community actions prove that women can break through socio-cultural barriers when given the right opportunities and environments.
The mainstay of our Swabhiman programme is grassroots outreach. We identify and empower local Change Agents, Peer Educators, Community Health Educators and SPWF Health Volunteers.
Through regular training on vital community issues, these volunteers pass their knowledge to their peers. This continuous cycle forms a comprehensive and innovative network that tackles social, economic and health challenges.

Building strategic partnerships to create stronger and more sustainable community programmes.
The SPWF programme builds strategic networks with government institutions to maximize community awareness and project impact. We collaborate closely with Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), local panchayats, schools and health departments to ensure sustainable, long-term partnerships.
For seamless grassroots execution, our interventions integrate directly with the three levels of public health administration.

Direct operational coordination with Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
Specialized referral coordination with medical experts at major hospitals.
